The route offers several possible itineraries. Either from the ascent to the castle or from the end of the promenade of La Mina, the path makes a circular return to La Atalaya, passing by the rest area of Pocico de San Juan, a sample of the mining past of the town. The cobblestone paths that ascend to the Collado de Las Lomas offer unbeatable views of the Llovedor. The various sections of the old trail – gateway to the town before the access tunnel was built – are spectacular. It is not uncommon to come across a group of Hispanic goats along these ridges.
The circular return to the castle remains well conditioned and it is especially surprising to pass under the aqueduct and link with the road to Seno, already towards the lands of Lower Aragon. Binoculars and a camera are essential for this excursion, ideal for families.
