Attractive trail that perfectly complements the visit of the monumental complex of the town of Mirambel. It offers a tour of the historical and ethnographic heritage in the surroundings of the urban center. The itinerary has no difficulty and is quite comfortable, except for the ascent by paved path and cattle track to the place of La Horca and masico de Las Monjas, the hardest part of the route.
From the famous Portal de las Monjas, the trail descends next to the icehouse and the wall to the Cantavieja River. At this point begins a steep ascent to the mas de Virgos (in ruins) and the farmhouse Mateo. The route continues ascending with magnificent panoramic views of the town of Mirambel to the masico Las Monjas.
Further on, it connects with a dirt track until we reach the Cabezo pass, where we can turn off to the fountain of the same name. The descent is made by a dirt track on a steep slope, to connect with the route no. 6 of the Maestrazgo MTB Center: variant Cantavieja-Mirambel. After a few meters, our route takes a detour along a path to the medieval bridge and the old Ronda mill. It continues along the Camino de Cantavieja and San Martín, passing by the hermitage of Pilar, to end again by the Cantavieja River, in Mirambel.
