The Allepuz washhouse has hardly been modified. It has masonry walls and a rectangular floor plan with one of its longest sides open towards the road, with a pillar supporting the wooden roof on that side. The old roof was made of poplar beams and pine rafters. It takes the water from a small stream that rises above Allepuz, and flows into a pond next to the washhouse after passing through the washing basins. It is a covered ditch washhouse, a very original and extremely rare type. In addition, it is part of an irrigation and milling system and its elements are: the Berros spring and the Sollavientos river as the source of the water, the azud as the catchment element, the irrigation ditch and aqueducts as conduction elements and the intermediate fulling mill, washing place and final mills as uses. In the historical irrigated lands of the upper Turia of Teruel, with about a hundred washhouses, only those of Allepuz and Tormón are mentioned. The main key to this type of washes is the collection of abundant, clean and safe water. This function is fulfilled by the Berros spring, a spring that guarantees water from the Sollavientos river, even if it comes dry from upstream in times of intense drought. The irrigation and milling system of Allepuz is the most important of the Sollavientos river, but not the only one.
