Hermitage of San Macario

The hermitage of San Macario is a construction of the XVIII century. It is worth mentioning the atrium of its front façade, which is open to the street through semicircular arches on columns, of which the central one is higher. Around January 23, Castellote celebrates the feast in honor of the patron saint of the temple, a bonfire is usually lit on the eve in the Plaza del Caballón. The mayorales of San Macario will be in charge of distributing mistela, muffins and blessed bread, among the neighbors, at the door of the chapel at the end of the mass.
