Looking for a perfect plan for this summer that combines nature, history and outdoor activities? We present the Camino de los Pilones<\/strong>, a fascinating long-distance trail (GR-265) that crosses the Maestrazgo mountain ranges, linking the city of Teruel with the Puerto de las Cabrillas, in La Iglesuela del Cid. At this moment you can already do the section between Allepuz and La Iglesuela del Cid. <\/p>\n\n

A trail with centuries of history<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

This ancient bridle path<\/strong> was used since the Middle Ages for trade, transhumance and royal journeys. Its name comes from the stone pylons<\/strong>, milestones over two meters high that guided travelers in extreme conditions of fog, blizzards or snowfall. Today, many of these pylons are still intact and can be admired during the journey, adding a unique character to the hiking experience. <\/p>\n\n

Hiking through breathtaking landscapes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The route of the Camino de los Pilones crosses spectacular landscapes: rocky plateaus, mountain pine forests, charming villages and traditional constructions such as dry stone buildings, declared World Heritage Site<\/strong> by UNESCO. Along its 92 km<\/strong>, you can immerse yourself in a natural environment that reflects centuries of history and rural activity. <\/p>\n\n

Stages of the tour<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

This trail can be done in stages, allowing you to adapt the experience to your level or availability:<\/p>\n\n

  1. Teruel – Valdecebro – Corbal\u00e1n<\/strong> (15 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Corbalan – El Pobo<\/strong> (19.2 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. El Pobo – Allepuz<\/strong> (13.7 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Allepuz – Villarroya de los Pinares<\/strong> (7 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Villarroya – Fortanete<\/strong> (16.5 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Fortanete – La Iglesuela del Cid<\/strong> (21.5 km)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Iglesuela del Cid – Alto de Las Cabrillas<\/strong> (3.2 km)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    Each stage will allow you to discover new landscapes and historical sites, in addition to enjoying a well-signposted route equipped with interpretive panels.<\/p>\n\n

    Outdoor activities for the summer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    In addition to hiking, the Camino de los Pilones is ideal for other outdoor activities<\/strong> such as landscape photography, wildlife observation or even cycling in some sections. Thanks to the altitude, the climate in summer is cool and pleasant, perfect for escaping the heat and connecting with nature. <\/p>\n\n

    A cultural and geological journey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    History lovers will enjoy the references to King James I, who used this road on his travels to Levante. They will also discover the vestiges of the wool trade that connected the Maestrazgo with the great textile cities of Europe, as well as examples of the most ingenious rural architecture. <\/p>\n\n
