Convent of the Servites of the Cuevas de cañart

The inauguration of the convent was celebrated on May 20, 1727 with a procession from the old convent in the Cueva de San Miguel to the new convent. The convent stood out in the province, being in the middle of the XVIII century the one that housed more friars.

The convent was taken during the First Carlist War and between 1838 and 1839 it was used as a hospital for the Carlist District of Aragon, Valencia and Murcia.

After the disentailment of Mendizábal in 1835, the Servite convent was dismantled for the benefit of nearby parishes that acquired the furniture, which was strongly opposed by the local residents.

Today the church remains standing, to which this new space has been annexed, where you can learn, through various panels and showcases with objects, the history of the Servite order in the territory.
