Exhibition of rabbit fur hats

Tronchón is a town known essentially for the cheese that has been produced there for more than four centuries, but really the craft and economic activity that has occupied more people throughout its history has been the production of hats with rabbit fur. The first news that we have of the elaboration of hats in Tronchón takes us to the year 1711, when several hatters were called to Morella (Castellón) to work hats for the King. And it seems that it is during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when this craft flourished to have dozens of craft workshops located in the houses themselves.

The exhibition, located inside the Tourist Office, shows step by step the elaboration of these curious hats and their subsequent commercialization, in addition to being able to see antique utensils and tools used for the manufacture of these handcrafted objects.

On opening dates, at 12:30 and 17:00 h.
