Pleurotus eryngii (DC.) Quél. (1872)

A saprophytic species that can fruit all year round in nitrophilous grasslands. In the area it is always associated with the dried roots of the previous year’s runner thistle, Eryngium campestre . Mushroom of medium size and pleasant smell. The cap has brown and ochre tones, eccentric foot and very decurrent uneven lamellae. Together with its ecological characteristics it does not present possible confusions. This mushroom is highly sought after and valued by the local population.
