In this section we will ascend the pass of Sierra de los Caballos from the crossroads of Dos Torres de Mercader connecting from the TE-8101 with the TE-V-8215, with a first part in a moderate ascent on a rural road with very little traffic.
When we change roads, the segment with the highest percentages of the whole pass awaits us, with two kilometers at an average of almost 10% and with ramps of 12%. After an endless straight, at least we will enjoy a privileged view when we reach the only curvy area where the views of the Sierra de los Caballos open up.
After these curves we will find a detour to a dirt road with the indication of Sierra de Los Caballos.
We will enter a very wide path without technical difficulty that will take us through the Atalaya Quarry to Castellote, where nature and history merge at every corner. We will arrive at the Public Washing place with views also to the Templar Castle of Castellote and finding the Templar Tower as we pass through the town.
