If you like slides and passes that combine intense climbs with rest areas, this climb is perfect for you.
We will leave Iglesuela del Cid with a first surprise, because the first 700 meters of ascent already have some 10% ramp, although then we will have a small downhill section.
We will follow the A-227 at all times, with quite cracked asphalt, and with a few curves that become, at the sight of the cyclist, hard straights like the one that approaches the second kilometer, again touching 10%, followed by a false flat and a small descent.
The rock gorges will accompany us in the last of the hard parts of the ascent, past kilometer 3.2, and with a new kilometer very similar to the other two segments that we have passed previously.
The main advantage is that we will have the hardest part done and, until the end of the pass, we will be accompanied by a gentle positive slope while the views of the Barranco de Torre Marín begin to open up until we reach the sign that indicates that we have crowned the Puerto de Cantavieja at 1,420 meters of altitude.
