La Cuba School

The girls’ classroom was located on the second floor of this building and the boys’ classroom on the upper floor. When it became a coeducational school, it was located on the second floor. This school has been preserved in exceptional conditions, due to the quality, quantity and variety of materials.

From the middle of the XIX century, an interesting documentation of the Local Board of Public Instruction is kept in the municipal archive, as well as inventories, books of inspection visits, school works, and abundant didactic materials such as Seix Barral cut-outs from the beginning of the XX century, embroidery sheets and a voluminous collection of school books from 1870.

The most outstanding piece, which was common in the schools, but has rarely been preserved, is the armillary sphere, this one from La Cuba is from the beginning of the 20th century.
