The Maestrazgo region is once again highlighting its cultural and scenic heritage with the second edition of Maestrazgo, un paisaje de música (Maestrazgo, a landscape of music). This project allows neighbors and visitors to the area to get to know the surroundings and enjoy live music in incomparable landscapes in the middle of nature. This year the scenarios chosen for this have been the pine forests of Fortanete and Morrón of Bordón.
On September 3, the first of these concerts was held in Fortanete, in the Loma de la Cruz Gorda. Prior to the concert, Serafina Buj, from T-Guío, a tourism services and heritage interpretation company, gave an interpretation of the environment of the pine forests and pastures of the village. After this, Shlomo Rodriguez began his concert, performing a romantic repertoire with a selection of piano works and versions of famous operas such as The Barber of Seville, Carmen and La Traviata.

The second concert took place on the 10th of the same month at Masía El Morrón in Bordón. On this occasion, the geological interpretation of the Morrón environment was given by Luis Mampel, paleontologist of the Dinópolis Foundation and scientific director of the Maestrazgo Geopark. After this, it was the turn of the internationally experienced Ensemble Waldstein Quartet, which performed chamber works for strings and clarinet by Mozart and Beethoven.

Both the concerts and the activities of interpretation of the landscape and the environment have been well received by the public. These events, which are enjoyed by children, young people and adults, not only allow you to enjoy live music in amazing spaces, but also allow you to learn more about the environment that surrounds us.

First music landscapes
The first edition of Maestrazgo, un paisaje de música was held last year on the Camino de los Pilones, between Villarroya and Allepuz, and in the Llovedor corner, in Castellote. On this occasion, it was proposed to the public to walk to these environments from nearby towns to reduce the carbon footprint, thus influencing the respect and care of these natural areas. Before the concerts, there was also an interpretation of the landscape by Serafina Buj, in the Camino de los Pilones, and Luis Mampel in the Llovedor de Castellote.
Now, to wait for the next proposals in September 2023….
