A genus of fungi with numerous saprophytic species that fructify from spring to autumn in meadows and forest environments. All of them are characterized by whitish coloration, pleasant odor, presence of a ring, cuticle separable from the shading and pink or grayish and free lamellae, which makes it easy to separate the shading from the stem.
Caution: Never confuse mushrooms with amanitas, the latter with white slices, or with Agaricus xanthoderma, which has a very unpleasant odor and is toxic.
