Alfonso XII

Son of Isabel II, he meant the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy in Spain and, with it, the reestablishment of the monarchical tradition. His rise to power calmed the fears unleashed in the conservative sectors by the Republic and deprived the Carlists of an important part of their support.
