Valeriano Weyler

A career military man, admirer of Prim, he earned his prestige fighting in the Spanish possessions in the Caribbean. In the last Carlist war he was assigned to the Army of the Center. He operated, under the orders of Palacios, in Maestrazgo and faced Santés in Bocairente. He participated in the last battles of the war and, from there, went to Catalonia. He would later become Minister of War several times.
